Agency for Persons with Disabilities

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) congratulates Special Olympics Florida for 50 years of making a tremendous difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. The phenomenal concept that Eunice Kennedy Shriver had of encouraging and including people to compete at whatever level they could has changed people for the better.

I am proud that I was able as a student at Florida State University to assist with planning and holding the first Special Olympics games in Tallahassee. APD is always excited to work in partnership with Special Olympics Florida.

I have attended your phenomenal State Summer Games and have seen firsthand the great work Special Olympics Florida is doing related to health screenings which are very important to the people we serve. They have provided outstanding and meaningful service to Floridians for 50 years. Way to go!
